# [How to Use Pressure Gauge Reading](https://help.vineyardelf.com/how-to-use-pressure-gauge-reading.md)

## Configuration (one-time setup)

In the Panel Reader, expand **⚙️ Configuration**:

1. **API key** - the same one used for leaf analysis (Roboflow)
2. **Detection model** - choose:
   - `⭐ Analog Gauge Meter v11` - recommended for pressure gauges
3. **Gauge scale**:
   - Min/Max value: e.g. `0` and `6` (bar)
   - Angles: the default `225°-315°` works for most gauges

## Reading a pressure gauge

1. Select the **Device type**: e.g. "PetNat pressure gauge"
2. Upload a photo of the gauge
3. Click **Analyze panel**

**Result:**
```
📊 Readings:
Gauge reading: 2.35 bar (confidence: 51%)
🔧 Debug:
  Needle angle: 267.5°
  Position on scale: 47.2%
  Tip used: ✓ Yes (more accurate)
```

## Correction and model training

If the reading is incorrect:

1. Expand **📊 Save to training dataset**
2. Enter the **actual value** (e.g. `2.5`)
3. Choose the unit (`bar`)
4. Click **💾 Save**

This data helps train a better model over time.

## Scale calibration

If readings are consistently off:

1. Take a photo of the gauge at its **minimum** (0)
2. Note the angle from the debug output (e.g. `225°`)
3. Take a photo at its **maximum**
4. Note the angle (e.g. `315°`)
5. Enter these angles in the configuration

## Tips

- Take the photo **straight on** (not at an angle)
- Use good lighting (no glare on the glass)
- The `analog-gauge-meter/11` model detects the `Gauge Head` (tip) - more accurate than the center of the needle
